Every life matters, every purpose precious.


purpose image from internetDid you know that you are just as important to God as anyone that lives or has ever lived? He loves you just the same as He loves the preacher, the president, the Pope or even one of His 12 disciples.

Doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done. He loves you the same. No more, no less.

And did you know that the purpose and plan that He has for your life is just as important to Him as the purpose and plan He had for Noah, for Moses, for David and anyone else that has ever lived?

The purposes and plans He has for you are just as important to Him as the purposes and plans He has for the famous evangelist, the respected world leader, a well-loved purpose image quote from fred buechnerChristian musician.

Not one of us should waste another minute selling ourselves short or underestimating our value to Him and His Kingdom, for we never know when our minutes on earth are up.

Every life matters. Every purpose matters. Always has. Always will.

Take your place in His story and know to the depths of your soul that His story is the ultimate happily-ever-after story. And, best of all, it’s already written.

And the Word of God says…

“But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth” (Exodus 9:16).

“I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted” (Job 42:2). 

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails” (Proverbs 19:21).

“The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out” (Proverbs 20:5).

“Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose” (Philippians 2:12-13).

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

“He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace” (2 Timothy 1:9).

It’s NOT A Fairytale!


If I learned one thing from my first newspaper editor, it was this:

everybody has a story. To prove that to me, he’d often send me down to Main Street

in the small community where I worked and would tell me not to come back
until I had a story.
I never came back without one. In fact, I found some
pretty good ones just by talking to people who stopped into the post office to
drop something in the mail or by the shoe shop to have their shoes repaired by the old guy who had been repairing shoes for going on 50 years.
Indeed, I met many interesting people on Main Street and, to this day, feel indebted to that editor for teaching me this valuable lesson so early in my career.

 

After I became a Christian, I began to examine this pearl of wisdom a little closer. Christians, I found, just like everybody else in the world, have their own individual stories. The difference is that most start out the same…on a dark and stormy night. And ALL end exactly the same…happily ever after!

No fairy tale here, folks. That’s God promise to each and every one of us. If you ask Him into your heart, God Himself becomes your knight in shining armor; your prince; your superhero—absolutely more wonderful and more powerful than anything ever born of the human imagination.

And He and your happily ever after await you just beyond Heaven’s door. My place is saved. Is yours?

The Story With A Happy Never-Ending Ending


HIStory

Recently as I was re-watching The Bible on the History Channel, I was captivated by the word “history.” It was if my brain hit pause with that word on the screen and it’s all I could think about for a few minutes. I woke up again this morning with that word on my mind. Thus, I pondered it for a bit.

History is the past and many of us spend too much time in the past; we keep busy trying to re-live it or change it and are often unable to fully enjoy the gift of today because of that.

But, take a closer look at the word. History. His-tory. HIStory. His Story. History is His Story and all things that are a part of His Story are woven together “for the good of those who love Him and who have been called according to His purpose.”

Best of all, if you are one of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose, His Story is guaranteed to have a happy never-ending ending.

“And they lived happily ever after….”
